It is marked Sterling on the back of the handle. Rare Sterling REED & BARTON Hooded Asparagus Server FRANCIS I 1907. Sterling Silver – Reed & Barton – Francis I 1907 – Rare Hooded Asparagus Server – weighs 5.03 troy ozs. This is the first one we have seen. It is an original all sterling hooded asparagus server. The pierced server portion still retains that light satin gold wash finish. Marked: with the makers mark for Reed & Barton, STERLING. Measurements: 9 1/8″ in length and the server portion measures 4 1/4″ in width. Monograms: on server (see photo). Does have light surface scratches on the flat portion from age and normal use. Behind the hood does have tiny nicks / scratches (see photo). Any dark spots are only shadows from taking the pictures.
