Reed & Barton Francis I – Soup Spoon. This is an elegant sterling silver soup spoon. The exquisite craftsmanship of this stunning spoon makes this piece sparkle like a gem on your table. Please be sure to check out my other listings. I have eight of these spoons for sale. As far as I know, none have ever been used. Since they’re not in original packaging, though, please assume each is in excellent used condition. I will respond with an offer for you! To give a clearer view of the design, I went ahead and included a stock image. 5 7/8 in length. Introduced by Reed & Barton in 1907, Francis I silverware quickly became a favorite of nobility and presidents. This Renaissance-inspired flatware pattern has an ornate handle that is decorated with voluminous scrollwork, leaves, blossoms, and fruit. Francis I is an exquisite example of silver artisanship. There are several variations, all of which depict a bounty of fruits nestled into a cluster of flowers and leaves. All items are packed with love… And lots of bubble wrap, peanuts, etc. All silver not in original packaging has been recently polished, but it may benefit from another polish by the time it arrives at your door. Unless otherwise noted in the description, please assume the piece has minor imperfections consistent with a used piece. Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a lovely Reed & Barton “Francis I” Sterling Silver jelly spoon. Thehe “Francis I” pattern was designed by Ernest Meyer for Reed & Barton in 1906. “Francis I” is one of the most desirable silver flatware patterns ever produced with its elaborate Acanthus & Fruit design on the handle. Measures 5 7/8″ long, 1 1/2″ wide with a total weight of 36 grams. The spoon is in excellent Estate condition and is marked “Sterling, Reed & Barton”. Ernest Meyer was a brilliant French designer and created the “Francis First” pattern with the goal of rivaling the beauty and opulence of the silver created by the great Italian Renaissance silversmiths for the French Court of Francis I. The pattern consists of fifteen different designs and the creative process took three years to complete. Francis I was introduced in 1906 and was an immediate success with Royalty from all over the world purchasing this silver. The continuing popularity of Francis I Sterling Silver led to a demand for matching service pieces and Reed & Barton over the years have created over 100 matching hollowware pieces and the addition of a silver plate line marketed as King Francis. Francis I is also my own silver pattern and since we are currently downsizing, my personal collection will also be offered for sale. Francis I by Reed & Barton sterling silver casserole or berry spoon with enamel work on the handle. This is an in good estate condition. I just hand polished it a little bit. This piece looks like it was used regularly. It is not damaged. There is no monogramming or mono removals. It measures 9.5 long. It weighs 5 troy ounces. It is marked Reed & Barton Sterling on the back. The enameling is a little worn on the high areas see photos.
