This beautiful silverware service for 12 was crafted from solid. 925 sterling silver by Reed & Barton and was made in their “Francis I” pattern. The pattern is unique, given that – unlike other flatware patterns – it has fifteen different fruit-and-flower clusters. Each different piece’s handle bears one of these detailed designs. Each place setting is made up of 6 pieces – a luncheon knife, a luncheon fork, a salad fork, a round soup spoon, a teaspoon, and a butter knife. The set also comes with a serving spoon, a cake slicer, a small cold meat serving fork, a fruit spoon, a medium solid salad serving spoon, and an extra set of 12 teaspoons. Eight of the butter knives are the hollow-handle version with a steel blade while four are the flat-handle with sterling silver blade. Everything is in excellent overall condition and most of the pieces have a light to moderate tarnish. As such, a proper cleaning is necessary before any actual food-service use. Most of the pieces bear the new style “Reed & Barton” markings on the back. However, some of the pieces are marked with the old style “Eagle-R-Lion” markings.
