Francis I sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Reed & Barton in Taunton, Mass. Helmet mouth, ovoid neck, bellied bowl, and domed foot. Handle high looping with leaf cap and mounts. Chased and engraved ornament: Garlands, scrolls, fleurs de lys, and fruits and vegetables spilling out of cornucopias-a mix of Classical and natural motifs evocative of Renaissance France. Two shaped frames vacant. Fully marked including maker’s stamp, S. Kind & Sons retailer’s stamp, pattern name and no. 570A, date symbol, and volume (4 pts). Dimensions: H 10 7/8 x W 10 x D 6 in.
